ABC News and Consumer Reports have both reported on the shift in our country of an increase in desire for American made goods. ABC’s series Made in America Christmas asked everyone to commit to spending just $64 on products made in America which could result in 200,000 new jobs. Consumer Reports National Research Center conducted a study that found some startling statistics including that 78% of Americans would rather buy products made here and 60% of all respondents said they would be willing to pay 10% more just for American made goods because the belief is that the goods produced here are of higher quality. Harold Sirkin of Boston Consulting Group has been surveying companies large and small about returning their manufacturing to the US. A Lesson at Home about Equipment Leasing for Auto Repair Shops

A Lesson at Home about Equipment Leasing for Auto Repair Shops

Not very often do I get to blog about things that go on in our home regarding equipment leasing, however, this week our high school son came home and announced he wants to be an auto mechanic and have his own shop. Part of this is because he truly loves working on cars and he does a great job (even changes the oil in our cars) but after digging a little deeper we learned it’s also because he’s not fond of math this year (Algebra II so who can really blame him). We talked to him a little about the importance of school and having a well-rounded education and then he started asking questions about how much it would cost to open his own shop. He was shocked, as were we, with the cost of even the most basic of equipment.
